Educational Background

Doctorate degree in life sciences

  • Pharm.D (Doctors of Pharmacy)
  • Ph.D in life sciences (to be competitive, Ph.D with Clinical Research Associate experience)
  • M.D. (Foreign trained as well)

Job Functions

  • Main responsibility is building rapport with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)/ thought leaders in various therapeutic areas of research
  • Positively positioning of the company’s therapeutic capability in a given geography
  • Interact with key decision makers both within the organization and outside the company
  • Responsible for liaising with internal and external customers and providing medical and scientific information on a specific pharmaceutical drug product.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with academic researchers and leaders, large community research centers and organizations, attending conferences and talks
  • Engage in detailed medical and scientific exchange with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Research scientific literature, and write reports, papers, and research protocols

Must Have Skills

  • Extensive clinical and medical knowledge in a given therapeutic area
  • Knowledge of healthcare system, disease management and medical research
  • Ability to understand and summarize clinical trial reports and papers
  • Understanding of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and ICH guidelines
  • You must be a ‘people person’
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and converse with healthcare professionals on a peer to peer basis
  • willingness to travel extensively, including the weekends
  • Able to participate in a scientific conversation with KOL’s and researchers about a therapeutic area
  • Excellent teaching skills and ability to discuss scientific materiel clearly and concisely
  • Ability to create and sustain relationships with industry leaders
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision in an environment with constantly changing priorities
  • Able to work in a highly regulated environment
